Welcome Back to the 1890s Carpenter Family
At the Children’s Backyard, you can experience how a carpenter family lived and worked in Odense during the 1890s.
The family had an outhouse in the yard and a bedroom upstairs. In the Children’s Backyard, everything can be touched and used as if you lived there yourself. The entire area is designed for play, allowing you to try out life in a 19th-century city. Pump water with the hand pump, dress up for a tea party, imagine being apprentices in the carpenter’s workshop, or take a nap in the bed when you grow tired of work.
Note: The tools are sharp – please be careful!
The backyard is a cobbled courtyard featuring a carpenter’s workshop on the ground floor and the carpenter’s apartment on the first floor.
